LIAM Finn will be a 24-year-old unknown to most Americans when his debut solo album is released in the United States this week, but Crowded House fans have already heard his work almost two decades ago. The son of Crowded House frontman Neil Finn wrote the line "And here comes Mrs Hairy Legs" and an accompanying melody in the hit band's 1991 song Chocolate Cake, and last year toured America with them.
ACTRESS Lindsay Lohan will take a short class at a morgue as part of her sentence for drunken driving and cocaine possession. Lohan, 21, already has served less than two hours in jail and completed 80 hours of community service after she pleaded guilty to the drinking and drug charges stemming from a July car chase and a crash in Beverly Hills in May, lawyer Blair Berk told reporters. PARTS of the next James Bond film, starring British actor Daniel Craig, will be filmed in Bregenz, western Austria, on the edge of Lake Constance, said Swiss production company Unicorn Media. The company announced it was recruiting 1500 extras for opera scenes set on a floating theatre, a characteristically glamorous backdrop for the spy franchise. The filming, which began on January 3 in London, will move to Bregenz between April 29 and May 10. The 22nd James Bond, the title of which has not yet been released, is set to open on November 7 in theatres around the world. ENGLISH soccer star David Beckham met with children in Sierra Leone as part of his role as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, the UN child agency. The LA Galaxy midfielder arrived in West Africa late on Friday on a two-day trip to a country struggling to recover from a 1991-2002 civil war. ALLAN Melvin, a character actor best known for playing Alice's love interest Sam the butcher on the Brady Bunch, has died, the Los Angeles Times reported. Melvin succumbed to cancer on Thursday at his home in Los Angeles, the paper said. He was 84.
